Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Purity collects, why, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

1. Who this covers

"Purity", "we" and "us" mean the operator of runwithpurity.com and the Purity software. Questions go to hello@runwithpurity.com.

  • Visitors to runwithpurity.com and people who use our free tools.
  • Businesses with a Purity account, and the owners, admins and staff who sign in to them.
  • Buyers, wholesale customers, affiliates and subscribers of the brands that use Purity. For this group Purity works on the brand's behalf: the brand decides what is collected and why, and the brand's own privacy notice applies. Please contact the brand first. If you contact us, we will pass your request to the brand.

2. What we collect

From account holders:

  • Sign-in details: your email address, a password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form by our sign-in provider), two-step login settings, and sign-in records such as time and network address, kept for security.
  • Business details: company and brand names, logo, store settings, team invites and roles, and the business details you give us to register texting or an email domain.
  • What you put into the dashboard: products, batches, lab reports and the files you upload, suppliers and price sheets, purchase orders, orders, payment records, campaigns, automations, and the activity log of who changed what and when.
  • Keys for services you connect. These are stored so that nobody can read them back, including you.
  • Billing: your plan, invoices and whether they are paid. Purity does not collect card numbers for its own billing.
  • Messages you send us, such as support emails and feature requests.

On behalf of brands, about their buyers:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers and shipping addresses.
  • Orders, cart and checkout progress, coupon use, and payment confirmations, including payment alert emails a brand forwards to Purity so payments can be matched to orders.
  • When a brand takes cards, the buyer types card details on the card gateway's own payment page. Purity never sees or stores card numbers.
  • The research-use agreement a buyer accepted, with the exact words shown, and email and text consent with the wording agreed to.
  • Wholesale applications, affiliate details, newsletter and back-in-stock sign-ups, unsubscribe and STOP records.
  • Store chat conversations, text message threads and email replies.

From visitors and free tools:

  • The store preview and store scan: the web address you enter and the public pages we fetch from it. If you ask for a scan report by email, your email address. Previews and scans are kept for 30 days.
  • The wording checker: the text you paste is checked and then discarded. It is not stored.
  • Demo requests: the name, email, company and message you send, a scrambled (hashed) form of your network address, and your browser type, to stop spam.
  • Usage measurement on our marketing pages, described in section 5.

3. How we use it

  • To run the service: show your dashboard, host your store pages, send the emails and texts you ask us to send, match payments, read lab reports and run the wording check.
  • To keep accounts and data secure: sign-in checks, two-step login, rate limits, abuse prevention and the activity log.
  • To bill accounts on paid plans and to answer support requests.
  • To fix problems and improve Purity, using our own records of how the service is working.
  • To meet legal duties and to enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use a brand's buyer data for anything other than providing the service to that brand.

4. AI features

Purity uses an outside AI model provider, Anthropic, for three things: the assistant in the dashboard (your question and the business data needed to answer it), the store chat on brands that turn it on (the visitor's messages and the brand's product and policy information), and a second check on store chat replies before they are shown. Under its commercial terms, the provider does not use this data to train its models.

Assistant conversations are saved in the brand's account. In the store chat, what a visitor types is not kept unless the visitor asks to pass the conversation to the brand's team; from that point the conversation and the contact details the visitor gives are saved for the team, with other email addresses and phone numbers removed from the stored text. A record that a chat took place, and how much it used, is kept for billing.

5. Who helps us handle information

We use these service providers. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job for us:

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage.
  • Netlify: hosting for the website, dashboard and store pages.
  • Resend: sending email, and receiving the payment alert emails brands forward to Purity.
  • Telnyx: sending and receiving text messages.
  • Anthropic: the AI features in section 4.
  • Google Analytics: counts visits to our marketing pages (the home page, pricing, guides, help and similar). It is not loaded in the dashboard or on any brand's store. It uses cookies and receives your network address and browser details.
  • Google Fonts: some store designs load their typefaces from Google, which receives the visitor's network address.
  • Cal.com: the booking calendar on our demo page.

Brands can also connect services under their own accounts, such as shipping and label services, a card payment gateway, their website platform, their own email domain or texting account. When they do, Purity sends those services what the brand's orders and messages need, at the brand's direction, and the brand's agreement with that service applies.

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect people or the service from harm, or as part of a sale or reorganization of Purity, in which case this policy keeps applying to it.

6. Cookies and browser storage

Purity uses a small number of cookies, and none for advertising:

  • Sign-in cookies that keep you signed in. They are renewed while you use Purity and end when you sign out.
  • A cookie that remembers which brand you were working in (one year), a cookie that holds an invite while you sign in (seven days), and a cookie that remembers the address you signed up with so we can resend the confirmation email (one day).
  • A cookie that keeps a store preview you chose to keep (30 days).
  • On brand stores with an affiliate program: a cookie that remembers which affiliate link a buyer arrived from, for the number of days the brand sets.
  • Google Analytics cookies, on our marketing pages only.

Your browser also keeps your shopping cart, your place in checkout, your light or dark display choice and whether you dismissed the install hint. That stays on your device.

7. How long we keep information

  • Account and business data: for as long as the account is open.
  • Store previews and store scans: 30 days.
  • Rate limit counters: about one day.
  • Records you delete in the dashboard are first hidden, so they can be restored from Activity. To remove them for good, email us.
  • Buyer data: for as long as the brand keeps it in its account. The brand decides this.

When an account is deleted at your request, we delete its data within 30 days. We keep only what we must for legal, tax or security reasons, such as invoices, records of which terms were accepted and when, and research-use agreement records, and only for as long as those reasons last. Copies in our providers' backups are removed on their normal backup schedule.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to delete your account, by emailing hello@runwithpurity.com from the address on the account. We will confirm it is you, and we answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, the law may give you more rights; we honor these requests wherever you live.

You can change your sign-in email and password yourself in Settings. You can unsubscribe from any email with the link in it, and reply STOP to any text.

If you are a buyer of a brand that uses Purity, contact that brand. We will pass your request on and help the brand answer it.

9. Security

Every record belongs to one brand, and the database itself refuses to show it to anyone outside that brand. Keys for connected services cannot be read back. Two-step login is available to everyone. Messages from outside services are checked for a valid signature before Purity acts on them, and changes are recorded in an activity log. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

10. Children

Purity is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Where information is handled

Purity and its service providers handle information in the United States.

12. Changes to this policy

Each version has a date at the top of this page. When a change matters, we will ask account holders to accept the new version the next time they sign in.
