Import customers, products and stock from a spreadsheet

Bring in your existing customer list, catalog or batch counts from a CSV file, matched and previewed before anything is added.

Save your spreadsheet as a CSV file first, with column names in the first row.

  1. Open Import.
  2. Choose what you're importing: "Customers", "Products", or "Batches (stock)".
  3. Choose your CSV file. Purity guesses which column is which under "Match your columns"; fix any that are wrong.
  4. Check the preview. Rows missing a required field are marked; fix them in your file and re-upload if needed.
  5. Click the import button to bring in the rows.
ImportingHow rows are matched
CustomersBy email. An existing customer is updated; a new email is added as a new customer.
ProductsBy SKU. An existing SKU gets the new name, price and description; a new SKU is added.
Batches (stock)By product SKU and batch number. The product must already exist. A batch number that's already there is skipped, so stock is never doubled.

Orders aren't imported from a file. They arrive automatically once your site is connected; see Connect your website.

Up to 10,000 rows and 5 MB per file. Every row added or changed shows up in Activity, same as doing it by hand.
